Project Kickoff Checklist

Use this before we open the first wireframe — it saves rework later.

1. Define success in plain language

Write one sentence: “When this site goes live, we want more ___ from ___.” Tie metrics to enquiries, bookings, or downloads — not vague “modern look” goals.

2. List must-have pages and priority order

Home, services, about, contact, legal — then phase two items such as case studies or blog categories. Knowing launch scope prevents scope creep mid-sprint.

3. Gather brand assets in one folder

Logo vectors, colour codes, font licences, approved photography, and any compliance copy (privacy, terms). Missing assets are the top reason timelines slip.

4. Assign a single approver

Feedback from five stakeholders without a decider creates endless revision loops. Name who signs off layout, copy, and go-live.

5. Map integrations early

CRM forms, analytics, chat widgets, booking tools — confirm accounts and API access before development starts, not the week of launch.

6. Plan hosting and domain cutover

Document registrar login, DNS TTL, email MX records, and a rollback plan. We schedule launches in low-traffic windows when possible.

7. Book a post-launch review

Two weeks after go-live, review analytics, form submissions, and search console errors. Small fixes then compound into stronger results.
